19th century, blue crossed swords mark and iron-red 35. to the clock, cancelled blue crossed swords mark, green 22. and incised 452. to the stand
Of rocaille cartouche form and raised on four scroll feet, the chased ormolu circular clock face set with blue and white enamel Roman chapters, the shoulder and front knees of the case with four putti emblematic of the Seasons, the front with an encrusted flower garland centering the clock face and framing a moulded cartouche finely painted with a gallant and his companion in a garden, a similar scene on the front of the balustre vase surmounting the clock and issuing flowers, the rocaille-moulded rectangular stand with scroll feet encrusted with similar flowers, painted with scattered flower sprigs and insects, the front and back with a rocaille cartouche enriched in pink and turquoise and enclosing a loose bouquet
