A PAIR OF SVRES STYLE 'JEWELLED' COBALT-BLUE GROUND OVAL PLATTERS
Late 19th century, bearing blue interlaced L's marks, both signed Leber.
Painted in colours with the battles of Tours of 732 after D. Steuben and Fontenoy of May 1745 after H. Vernet within a gilt and 'jewelled' surround, the border with portraits of the French king and his courtiers reserved on the blue ground gilt with trellis centering enamelled fleurs-de-lys, the battles and the names of the 18th century aristocrats named on the undersides
