2o (295 x 188 mm). Collation: Gg6 Hh4. 10 leaves, unfoliated. Gothic type. Double column, 54 and 55 lines and headlines. Large woodcut of a sick man in bed attended to by three physicians on divisional title Gg1r, full-page woodcut on verso of apothecary and physician (repeated from general title verso). Presumably extracted from the fourth edition (the third printed by Johann Prs) of the Hortus Sanitatis, "perhaps the most important medical book printed before 1500" (Hunt, p. 12). All three of Prss's editions of the Hortus Sanitatis are undated; the first was printed no later than 21 October 1497, and the final edition has been variously ascribed to various dates up to 1510 (BMC).
