The monogram CR beneath Royal Crown is that of Queen Charlotte, wife of George III.

A similar South American dish, unmarked, remains in the Royal Collection, and is illustrated in E. Alfred Jones, The Gold and Silver of Windsor Castle, 1911, plate XXIX, p. 58. It apparently was presented to George IV in 1825, and gilt by Rundell's the same year for p 60 8s (see Carlton House: The Past Glories of George IV's Palace, 1991, fig. 173, p. 196).
