A CHARLES II SILVER TANKARD
Maker's mark of Alexander Roode, London, 1677
Tapering cylindrical with molded base, the lower body chased with acanthus and engraved with a coat-of-arms and a helmet below a crest in a foliate cartouche, with tubular scroll handle with openwork dolphin thumbpiece, the hinged molded cover with acanthus calyx and reeded lip, marked near rim, on cover and handle
