Woodcut with hand-applied color, 1959, signed in pencil in Japanese Shiko and signed and dated in Roman script Munakata I959., pine needles symbol, sealed Shiko, paper slip affixed to verso inscribed in ink in Japanese 134 Kensei (barking dog) and in pencil in another hand with title in English, slight stains, tape stains to edges and corners

The poem in the image reads Yu zareba Kariba myojin arawaremu, yama fukoshite inu no koe suru and has been translated in Donald Jenkins, Images of a Changing World: Japanese Prints of the Twentieth Century (Portland, Ore.: Portland Art Museum, 1983), cat. no. 91:
"When evening falls, the god of the hunting place will appear. Deep in the mountains, a dog's voice sounds."
