The back inlaid with a circular red lacquer plaque carved with a fisherman poling his skiff towards the river bank where a scholar and his attendant carrying a qin stand waiting, all within a circular frame decorated on both sides with foliate scroll and supported below by bats amidst clouds rising from a foliate-decorated ring, the whole attached to a huanghuali handle
