Formed as a stylized figure of a seated bearded man, the head carved in light relief, the face and hair incised in fine lines, the body with vertical and horizontal lines, part of the head formed as a lid, bearing a wood box inscribed on the lid Rojingata dotsubo (clay pot in the form of an old man), kobai netsuke (red plum tree netsuke), signed on lid interior Shoko saku, sealed Nishino, Shoko and unread seal
