A standing figure of Zochoten, one of the four Guardian Kings (Lokapala), the protector of the Southern quarter of the universe, with fierce expression in Chinese-style armor standing on a grimacing demon, the eyes inlaid in glass, the surface black lacquer with traces of gilt, the head ornament and the flaming mandorla gilt metal, the stand carved separately, a small rolled paper contained inside the detachable head printed with a guardian king flanked by two acolytes, a small tower, hoju and a centipede
