With Herakles battling the Lernean Hydra, the hero clad in the skin of the Nemean lion, grasping one of the monster's seven serpentine heads in his left hand, wielding a harpe, a sickle-shaped knife, in his right hand, Hera's crab threatening from below, with Iolaus armed as a hoplite approaching from the right, holding two torches to cauterize the severed heads, and Hermes walking to the left, looking back at the battle, the god wearing cloak and hat, a bag over his left shoulder, holding the caduceus in his right hand, a net pattern above the scene, five palmettes on the shoulders, and vertical lines at the base of the neck
