A GREEK BRONZE SITULA HANDLE
hellenistic period, circa 3rd-2nd century b.c.
In the form of two curved bars, the hooked ends with conical finials looped through attachments on either end, each cast in the form of an eagle with outstretched wings and splayed tail, a snake firmly grasped within its talons and coiled around its body, the eagle's head turned to its right, a voluted band below the tail with a palmette above, remains of the vessel rim preserved
