FIRST EDITION OF THE "FIRST DUTCH WORK ON TROPICAL MEDICINE and the first modern description of beri-beri and cholera" (Garrison-Morton). Bondt, who spend four years with the Dutch East India Company, was probably the first to regard tropical medicine as an independent branch of medical science.
