8o (158 x 102 mm). (Title soiled with a few minor stains, some minor marginal browning and soiling, a few tiny rust-holes in text, occasionally catching letters.) Modern speckled calf antique. Gilbert (early signature on title-page); London, Medical Society (ink stamp on title); Wellcome Library (accession plate on front free endpaper and withdrawal stamp on title-page verso).
VERY RARE FIRST EDITION of possibly the earliest work in English on Caribbean medicine. Trapham attended Magdalen College at Oxford, and obtained his medical degree from the University of Caen in 1664; the same year he became an honorary fellow of the College of Physicians. NLM/Krivatsy 11952; Sabin 96473; Wing T-2030; Norman 2091.
