A MEISSEN SILVER-GILT MOUNTED HAUSMALEREI PEAR-SHAPED JUG AND COVER
Circa 1730, the mounts slightly later
Painted in blue and white with Chinese figures among flowering plants, enriched in gilt and painted in colours with indianische Blumen, the hinged silver-gilt domed cover with scroll finial, repousse with a bird nibbling berries, a displaying peacock and a bird nibbling leaves, each reserved on a textured ground within rocaille scrolls, the footrim mount repousse with meandering rocaille scrolls
