Circa 1740, blue crossed swords mark and puce painter's 28. to both, incised N to the hot-milk jug
Each with rocaille-moulded wishbone handle and shell thumbrest, painted with a wide shaped blue scale band edged with gilt rocaille scrolls suspending colourful loose bouquets and sprigs of deutsche Blumen, the mouth with a gilt dentil rim, the flat cover with flower finial, similarly decorated and with a gilt line rim, the teapot with gilt copper bands and chain linking the cover finial to the handle, 5in. (14cm.) and 3.1/8in. (8cm.) high; together with a Meissen sweetmeat basket, decorated en suite, 3in. (8.3cm.) wide (3)
