The breakarch case with gilt-brass pineapple finials, with fluted three-quarter pilasters flanking the door, the stepped base on bracket feet, gilt-brass dial with silvered chapter ring and matted centre, foliate spandrels, with subsidiary slow/fast ring in the arch, the triple fusee movement with hour strike on gong and quarter chimes on four further gongs (one hammer head lacking), with trip repeat, the backplate stamped W & H for Winterhalder & Hofmeier
