The case with foliate cast finials to the bell top, brass stop-fluted chamfered angles, handles to the sides above arched glazed panels, the square top door with gilt frets to the top, with brass-lined base and on bracket feet, the silvered brass dial with foliate spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, matted centre with date aperture, steel hands, signed in the arch Eardley Norton London, signature flanked by chime/not chime and tune selection for March/Air/Minuet/Cotillion, the triple fusee movement with verge escapement, with trip repeat cords for music and strike on a nest of eight bells via a 3in. (8cm.) long pinned cylinder, the backplate elaborately engraved with a floral basket and with foliate scrolls around a repeat signature
