gouache heightened with gold on paper, in Safavid style, the young man kneels on the ground as he unpegs the tether of a horned sheep which wears a bell round its neck, erroneous signature (raqm Muqim) and date (1032) below, blue meandering vine border, outer border of illuminated squares and gold-sprinkled squares, light buff leaf with gold arabesques - leaf 20 x 30cm.; and a Safavid lady, wearing only a diaphanous drape and jewellery and standing by a small gold tree, mounted - 30 x 19.5cm., Persia, 19th or 20th century
