The camera was the subject of a British patent number 8193 of 5 June 1888 to H. Mader and F. Oertal. A similar example, serial number 1133 was offered in Cameras and Optical Toys, 24 November 1994, lot 64, and another example, serial number 1173 was offered in Cameras and Optical Toys, 9 October 1997, lot 398.
