Album containing ninety-six cartes-de-visite including two hand-tinted and eleven cabinet cards, several autographed on recto or on mounts, the majority inscribed in ink/pencil and with photographers' printed credits on mounts, loosely inserted in pre-cut window mounts with decorative gilt borders, identified and with sitters' dates in pencil in a later hand on mounts, with four watercolour sea and mountainscapes, sizes approx. 3¾ x 6 in. to 4½ x 7 in., signed T.J.S. in ink on mounts, decorative printed title page Photographic Album, olive green calf by De La Rue & Co., London, with binder's name stamped in gilt inside front cover, spine with gilt fillets and black calf inlays, covers tooled in gilt and with integral black calf inlays forming elaborate square and diamond patterns, applied gilt metal monogram R.M. mounted centrally on front cover, gilt clasp, g.e., 4to.; with two cartes and two cabinet card portraits loosely inserted.
