Album containing ninety-six cartes-de-visite, several with manuscript titles and/or annotations and the majority with photographers' printed credits on mounts or on verso, loosely inserted in pre-cut window mounts with gilt borders, maker's credit G.R. & Co. Patent in gilt on mounts, the majority identified and with photographer's credit in pencil in a later hand on mounts, olive green morocco, gilt clasps, g.e., oblong 8vo.; with nine cartes-de-visite portraits including one hand-tinted loosely inserted. Lot Essay

Performers include the tightrope-walkers J.F. Charles Blondin and Gilarni A. Farnini, the trapeze artist Jules Leotard, Fellio, Pedro Miller, Maurice 'Snow Ball', the juggler Otto Motty, Loisa Loissat; portraits of child acrobats, clowns playing instruments and a dog.
