Album containing 132 cartes-de-visite including one hand-tinted, eleven cabinet cards, the majority inscribed in ink/pencil and with photographers' printed credits on mounts, loosely inserted in pre-cut window mounts with silver borders, identified and several with sitters' dates in pencil in a later hand on mounts, printed pictorial title page, black morocco with white metal front panel depicting a courting couple in Tudor costume in high relief, plain metal clasp, silver edges (leather rubbed), lge. 4to.; with twenty-five cartes and one cabinet card loosely inserted. Barnum; General Mite; siamese twins 'The Two-headed Nightingales' and the Brothers Tocci; giants Chang-Yu Sing, 7'9" (5), Captain Bates, 7'6½ "., Miss Bates, 8'; the Asters; portraits of matadors; Asi-Kitchi-Dan, the butterfly illusionist; three images of illusionist J.N.
