Album of fifty hand-tinted albumen prints, each approx. 8 x 10½ in. or the reverse, numbered and titled in the negative, tissue guards, photographer's oval ink credit stamp K. Kimbei, Photographer, 7 [?H/B]oncho-dori, Yokohama on front paste-down, black lacquer with ivory onlay depicting the god of the wind upsetting a rickshaw-bearer and his female passenger, a dog, a fish and a man carrying baskets, g.e., oblong 4to.

A good selection of finely coloured prints, a few from negatives by von Stillfried, with twenty-eight views including the main street, Yokohama, the interior of the Honmura Temple, Yokohama and other temple architecture; a tea house; wisteria at Kameido and the Tamadare waterfall at Yumoto; a cave dwelling at Dogashima, Hakone village and lake; Mount Fujiyama and the Shiraito Waterfall; a group portrait of the members of the Osaka Theatre outside the theatre; a funeral procession; a group titled 'New Year's Ceremony'; portraits including a doctor, a samurai, a pilgrim, 'snow costume', 'wind costume', 'winter dress'; studies of women weaving silk, eating rice, playing traditional musical instruments, hair-dressing; and of a pipe-mender and a flower-seller.
