A 20th-Century bone and wood model of a French sixty-four gun Man-of-War,
with bound masts, yards and stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging, carved female figurehead, rope decorated hair rails, anchors with bone stocks, belaying rails, deck rings, gratings, deck rails, companionways, capstan, upper deck guns in carriages, three ship's boats, two in chocks and one in davits with thwarts and oars, and many other details. The hull, with wood strakes has open and closed gun ports, carved stern and quarter gallery decoration, painted transom and is mounted on an inlaid chequer-pattern wood base stand and wood-framed glazed case. Measurements overall -- 22 x 29½in. (55.7 x 75cm.)
