A Japanese ivory tusk section vase
decorated in gold lacquer, iroe-hiramakie, iroe-takamakie and inset with coral, horn, amber, ivory and hardstones with a musician seated on the back of a buffalo being led by a bijin in typical dress amongst rockwork and pine before Mount Fuji, on a carved and pierced hardwood stand -- 6.7/8in. (17.5cm) high, signed and sealed in red lacquer, gold lacquer and inset mother-of-pearl, (crack, minor chips and rubbing).
