(2 plates a little stained, some light spotting.) Contemporary vellum. Provenance: Girolamo Caratti of Udine (ownership inscription, dated 1811, on an endpaper).
FIRST EDITION of a useful and uncommon book containing the biographies of, inter alios, the author himself, Antonio Tempesta, Simon Vouet and Bernini. Cicognara (2304) states that engravings by Lioni are "pochissimi e rari".
