2° (357 x 242mm). Engraved title, narrow folding engraved plate by Leon Pallavicino, and 12 engraved plates, including 5 folding double-page plates, woodcut initials and headpieces. (Light dampstain at hinge of first several leaves, small marginal stain in a few leaves, light soiling on final page.) Modern vellum, flat spine with leather lettering-piece, yellow edges. Provenance: unidentified armorial blindstamp on title.
Fontana and Antonio Martinengo directed the works at Brescia undertaken to celebrate the return of Cardinal Morosini, bishop of Brescia, from France in 1591. Giulio Todeschini, appointed architect of the city of Brescia in 1575, designed the arches, and Tommaso Buona was the artist responsible for their ornamentation; they are depicted in the 12 engraved plates.
