FIRST EDITION of Antiquari's panegyric on the Battle of Ghiaradadda fought bewteen Louis XII and the League of Cambrai against the Venetians. It appears to be one of very few books published at the expense of and edited by Franchino Gafforio (1451-1522), the great Italian musician and scholar and author of three works on musical theory and practice. The author (ca. 1444-1512), a native of Perugia, was the secretary to the Duke of Milan and the duchy regarding ecclesiastical benefices. BL STC Italian p. 31; Censimento A1960.
