4°. Engraved author-portrait frontispiece by Antonius Baratti after Liforius Donati, engraved title vignette and 24 engraved plates of shells by C. Pisarrius after Hercules Laelius, woodcut ornamental initials and head- and tailpieces. (Text leaves lightly spotted, small hole at edge of one plate.) Contemporary ?Roman red morocco gilt, central lozenge and corner decoration composed of floral tools, border of crowns alternating with floral tools, gilt spine, marbled edges.

A fine copy of Bianchi's work on shells, with a fine, engraved author-portrait frontispiece not otherwise known. This second edition contains 19 more plates than the first edition of 1739. Nissen ZBI 356; Wellcome II, p.161.
