2° (599 x 455mm). 55 mounted photographic plates. Contemporary red velvet, sides richly decorated, on front cover a silver-wire interlacing geometrical border, enclosing a luxuriant vine decoration with the vine leaves in silk of various shades of green and bunches of grapes in applied metal and silver thread, on back cover 2 interlacing borders, the inner one rhomboidal, made out of metal-wire comprising 55 rhombs, each one with a small button made out of green silk (many rubbed), at the fore-corners a circular ornament made out of metal-wire and silks of various colours, at the centre a large lozenge composed of foliate ornaments made out of gilt-wire and stylised silk ornaments (very minor damage at foot of upper hinge).
