(Most plates foxed to a greater or lesser extent.) Contemporary black hardgrain morocco, gilt raised bands on spine, gilt cornerpieces on sides (upper hinge cracked), g.e. Provenance: J.W. Six (his small book-label numbered 451).
FIRST EDITION of the first work by the eminent Victorian architect, Thomas Leverton Donaldson (1795-1885), a result of his tour to Italy in 1819 where he went to measure and draw the principal buildings.
