of typical folding form, trimmed with blue jay's and white duck's feathers, loop handle -- fully extended: 10¾in. (27.2cm.) wide; a smaller example trimmed with rows of guinea fowl, mallard and teal feathers, pierced handle -- open: 8½in. (21.7cm.) wide; and a late 19th/early 20th century gilt metal decorated mother-of-pearl and paper fan, gilt-heightened polychrome painted border depicting and 18th century-style fête champêtre, associated gilt metal tassle trim -- open: 20¼in. (51.4cm.) wide
