Provenance
John Jacoby (1869-1953). Jacoby was born in Manchester, the son of a violinist in the Halle Orchestra. At 18 he was sent to St. Gallen to work for his uncle Leopold Ilke.
Exhibited
Bristol City Art Gallery, The Georgian House, Laces and Embroideries from the Jacoby-Ikle Collection, 25 February - 31 March 1953. Also probably Oxford, Cambridge and Manchester.
