JAMES STEWART
A letter from James Stewart to the editor of the Arts & Leisure Section of The New York Times. The letter is in response to a query as to what was Mr. Stewart's favorite film. His answer "IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE," is my favorite. I suppose in a way it's my sentimental favorite...conceived by Frank Capra from a very simple phrase: no man is born to be a failure...Frank took the idea and worked with Hackett and Goodrich on the script, and created the stroy which is my favorite. Dated March 18, 1982 the letter is typed and signed on JAMES STEWART stationery. (2)
