A VERY RARE FAMILLE ROSE CORAL-RED-GROUND 'IN AND OUT' KAMCHENG AND COVER
TONGZHI
Finely enamelled to the exteriors with lobed ogival panels enclosing courtly figures in various garden scenes reserved on a rich and opaque coral-red ground scattered with butterflies amidst sprigs of peonies, prunus, azaleas, camelias, convolvulus, finger citrus, peaches, pomegranates and bamboo, the interiors decorated with branches with large pink, lavender and coral-red peonies in various stages of bloom against a turquoise-green ground, the Buddhistic lion finial and animal-mask handles picked out in gilt, enamels rubbed at some areas

Coral-red glazed Peranakan wares are rare and are much sought after by collectors. This present example is extremely unique as the interiors are fully enamelled with the typical Straits Chinese peony motifs
