A gilt-metal-mounted German porcelain rectangular box and cover
in the Naples style, moulded con basso relievo istoriato with classical figures, the cover with shaded gilt scroll border, the box with trailing bands of fruit, the mounts cast to simulate bamboo, the clasp formed as a mythical beast mask, underglaze blue crowned RE, circa 1900 (minor chip to footrim, slight wear) -- 23.5cm x 18cm. x 16cm.
