According to Samuel Hough's research in the Gorham archives, this pitcher, completed on July 14, 1905, took thirty-eight hours to fashion and thirty-seven hours to chase. It was chased by Henry Brooks, a Gorham employee for forty-five years. He was a well-regarded chaser, earning $24 a week in 1900, above the average salary of his co-workers.

The direct silver and labor costs of this pitcher were $70.74. The net factory price was $130.
