The rectangular clock with brass mounts and an enamelled circular dial inscribed Dubuc/Rue Michel-le-Comte No. 33/A PARIS above a bronze drapery swag inscribed WASHINGTON/First in WAR, First in PEACE,/First in The HEARTS of his COUNTRYMEN, surmounted by a shielded spreadwinged eagle grasping an arrow and olive branch above a plinth inscribed E PLURIBUS UNUM, flanked by a standing figure of Washington holding a scroll in his right hand and a sword in his left hand, all over a rectangular base with a gilded mount centering a female head, on chased ball feet
