A Chinese cormandel lacquer rectangular writing box
with brass mount and carrying handles, the top decorated with an oval panel of buildings in a pine strewn, mountainous river landscape within borders of flowersprigs and keyfrets, the sides with baskets of flowers and bowls of fruit within similar borders, the interior lid with two gu-shaped vases of further flowers and fitted with a mirror above a sectional base, the mirror surrounded with a gilt inscription reading "Sirbo a N.M.R.P.F. manuel de Saabreda P Ministro Provinciel Dela Provincia Del Santo Evanjelo", translating to "I serve our most reverend Padre Prime Minister of the Holy Gospel" -- 21¼in. (54cm) wide, Kangxi.
