A Shibayama style silver, enamel and gold
lacquer inlaid flattened circular vase and cover with egret and elephant head and loose ring handles above a lobed body, decorated with scattered flowersprays, with two panels inlaid in mother-of-pearl, horn, coral, stained ivory and wood with birds and butterflies among prunus, irises and chrysanthemums on kinji ground -- 6½in. (16.5cm) high, signed Shibayama.
