A small Ming red lacquer circular box and cover
carved to the top with two seated sages beside and standing Immortal carrying a scroll among plantain and rockwork on a ground of cell-pattern before simulated waves, the base carved with a figure in a boat below rockwork and pine and a further figure among rockwork -- 2¾in. (7cm) diam, late 15th/early 16th century.
