painted in sumi, gofun, colour and gilt on paper, depicting a view of a city, possibly Kyoto, with a large official procession of dignitaries on foot and horseback, warriors and attendants carrying palanquins, approaching a large shrine in the centre of the city, variously figures seated watching the procession at windows of pavilions and from behind a fence, surrounding districts of the city named and depicted with figures in streets and courtyards, before shrines and shop fronts, all in a hilly, pine strewn landscape amongst stylised gilt clouds -- each panel 42in.(106.5cm.) x 17¾in.
