'A Distant View of Easby Abbey, Yorkshire-Sunset' was exhibited at the Society of Painters in Watercolour, 1847, number 271.

Easby Abbey, built in the 13th and 14th centuries, is now a ruin and stands beside the River Swale, near Richmond.
