on four short scrollwork feet, painted and gilt with alternating panels of scrolling kiku heads and peonies and maple issuing from brushwood fences before demi-kiku heads enclosed in trefoil panels, metal rim and pierced reticulated cover modelled as an open flowerhead -- 3in. (7.6cm.) high overall, signed Shugetsu.
