A 12-inch (30.3cm.) diameter terrestrial globe, made up of twelve coloured printed paper gores with polar calottes, the oceans marked with major currents, the Antarctic continent incomplete, boundaries and nation states delineated as appropriate for the period (some old cracks, surface abrasions and restorations), mounted within a painted iron meridian circle graduated on one side in four quadrants, on a decorative cast iron tripod stand, the scroll legs with pierced foliate decoration -- 26¾in. (68cm.) high
