TWO VICTORIAN SILVER CHANUKKAH LAMPS
The first maker's mark Thomas Smily, London, 1866; the second Sheffield, 1880, apparently Atkin Bros.
The first on stepped circular base on four ball feet, engraved with Hebrew inscription 25 Kislev 5625 (1865), the tapered stem issuing four graduated scroll branches, topped by urn form sockets, with detachable servant lamp--12in. (32.3cm.) high; the second with weighted base, chased with floral band, with part engraved monogrammed tapered stem, topped by flame form finial, with servant light--13in. (33cm.) high; together with a silver-plated and a small silver example, the first--16.5oz. (4)
