A GERMAN SILVER TORAH SHIELD, A GEORGE V AND A CONTINENTAL PARCEL-GILT SILVER EXAMPLE
The first Augsburg, 1759-1761, maker's mark IVG; the second Jacob Rosenzweig, London, 1919; the last stamped 900.
Each with suspension chain, the first cartouche-shaped, the center with Tablets of the Law, and with rotating festival dial plate above, enclosed by scroll cartouche, the remainder with rococo scroll, floral and rocaille, with suspension chain--7in. (18.4cm.) high, (4.5oz.); the second rectangular, the center with hinged tablet form doors, revealing a cast Torah scroll, flanked above by lions centering crown, with repousse coiling foliate scrolls and blossom borders, with hinged compartment enclosing two festival plaques, with two pendant shields and bell--11in. (28.5cm.) high; the last shaped rectangular, with conforming gilt iconography, flanked by columns on diaperwork ground, the hinged compartment containing one plaque, with foliate scroll trefoil top, with two gilt bells--14in. (35.5cm.) high, total weight 59oz. (3)
