A PAIR OF STAFFORDSHIRE PORCELAIN FIGURE GROUPS OF ELIJAH AND THE WIDOW
Circa 1820, possibly Rockingham.
Elijah seated before a tree, the raven perched in its branches above his head, the Widow similarly posed, each wearing gilt-sprigged robes and an iron-red cloak, the trees with tufts of punk frit chippings, 4in. (10.2cm.) high; together with a Staffordshire pearlware figure of The Widow, circa 1825, wearing a turquoise-lined pink gown and flower-sprigged underskirt, 9.3/8in. (23.8cm.) high; and a Minton white smear-glazed cream-jug, registration mark for 27 April 1847, of baluster form with foliate-moulded loop handle, moulded with two vignettes of Naomi and her Daughters-in-Law, named on the underside, 6in. (15.2cm.) high. (4)
