THREE STAFFORDSHIRE FIGURE GROUPS OF OLD TESTAMENT SUBJECTS
Circa 1820.
Comprising a pearlware group of 'The Binding of Isaac', Abraham standing beside his son who sits bound beside a brazier, a lamb at his feet, the plinth on which the brazier rests impressed with a verse from Genesis, 10.3/8in. (26.3cm.) high; and pair of pearlware bocage figures of 'Elija' (sic) and the 'Widow', he seated before a flowering tree, ravens perched in its branches at his left, she seated before a similar tree, a child standing at her right, a ewer at her feet, 10.3/8in. (26.3cm.) high; together with a Leeds creamware teabowl saucer possibly painted by John Turner in black and touches of iron-red with the Sacrifice of Isaac and named below 'Genesis 22', 4.1/8in. (10.5cm.) diam. (4)
