Rome: [Zannetti] and Ciacconi, 1596-1605. 3 vols., folio, eighteenth-century Italian calf, elaborately gilt to a rococo design, covers with interlocking key borders incorporating large inner panel corner ornaments of stylized leaves, scallop, flowering plant and the wind, centers gilt-stamped with arms of Pope Pius VI (pope: 1775-99), spines in six compartments, red and olive-green morocco labels, g.e., spines slightly wormed, small loss at foot of spine of vol. 1, joints weak or cracked, edges worn, lacks colophon leaf Ff4 in vol. 1 and final blank leaf Kkk4 in vol. 3, several small tears, mostly at or near inner margins, with old repairs (at the time of binding), the patches sometimes causing trifling loss, 6 folding plates torn, some with old repairs, one with slight loss from worming, numismatic table in red and black patched with tiny losses in vol. 3, engraved title of vol. 3 creased, frayed at bottom edge with a tiny loss, some text leaves browned.
